就在昨天晚上，2011 Man Booker Prize for Fiction公布了今年度的的決選名單
今年的初選名單一共有13位作者，最終有6個作者進入了最後的大名單(!?)
現在讓我們來看看這些作者、作品與出版社吧

初選名單(longlist)：

其中Canongate、Granta、Atlantic、Serpent's Tail都是獨立出版社
四大集團(Penguin、Random House、Harper Collins、Hachette)中，今年只有Random House一家入選最後的決選名單
而Bloomsbury因為併購了許多出版品牌的關係，已經可算是半集團式的出版社
初步來看呢，今年的決選名單是獨立出版社壓倒性的贏過四大出版集團
但從銷量來看，目前賣出最多的作品，則是The Sense of an Ending

根據以往的經驗來看，賣得最好的作品最後不見得可以拿到最終大獎
銷量最差的作品也不是一定沒有機會得獎
一切都決定於評審的口味(!?)
但可以肯定的是，最終得獎的一定可以多賣一些
像是2010 Booker Prize 得獎作品The Finkler Question by Howard Jacobson (Bloomsbury)
從去年宣布得獎至今，已經賣出250,000冊
